Lest We Forget
Anzac day is celebrated on 25th April each year by Turkey, Australia and New Zealand as remembrance of an 8 month battle in which over 8000 Australian & NZ soldiers died and Turkey lost 84000 brave defenders in a battle for the beach at Gallipoli, which Turkey refers to as "The Field of Blood"

Old enemies now join together with a strong bond of friendship to recognise the sacrifice made by both sides in the World War 1 tragedy which ultimately led to the emergence of Turkey as a modern state governed by its visionary wartime leader, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and the coming of age of the Britsh colonies of Australia & New Zealand.
